Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organizing and steering committees of the XXIII International Summer School in Philosophy of Physics: Philosophy of Quantum Computation have decided that the 2020 edition will be held online (CEST/GMT+2 is employed for the program).

Our aim is to create the best possible experience for all participants, despite the unusual modality required  in light of the current international situation.

We have extended the submission deadline to the 24th of May, 2020.

*Call for Participation*

This is an invitation to participate in the XXIII International Summer School in Philosophy of Physics. The organizing and steering committees of the School have decided that the 2020 edition will be held online (CEST/GMT+2 is employed for the program).

The topic of the school is the “Philosophy of Quantum Computation” and it will feature lectures given by Roberto Giuntini (University of Cagliari & Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare "Beniamino Segre"), Maria Luisa Dalla Chiara (University of Florence), Michael Cuffaro (Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy), Giuseppe Sergioli (University of Cagliari); and seminars given by Rossella Lupacchini (University of Bologna), and Gustavo Martin Bosyk (University of Cagliari).

See the program below for further details. The time zone in the working schedule is that of Rome (CEST/GMT+2).

Attendance to the XXIII Summer School in Philosophy of Physics is free of charge. However, the School will accept only a limited number of participants, in order to guarantee the best possible learning environment for everyone. It is thus advisable to apply for the school as soon as possible. The Summer School will be streamed through Google Meet. The selected candidates will receive in due time the instructions to participate in the lectures.

and should be sent via email to: cirfis.scuolaestiva@gmail.com

DEADLINE: May 24, 2020.

The subject line of the application should be “Participation XXIII Summer School in Philosophy of Physics”

Notification of acceptance is expected no later than May 31, 2020.

*Call for Papers*

We wish to offer to three young researchers in Philosophy of Quantum Computation the opportunity to test their skills by presenting their original papers to the other participants of the School in one dedicated session. Interested graduate students, postgraduates and early researchers (PhD degree obtained after January 2015) are invited to submit an abstract (no longer than 1000 words) suitable for blind review to cirfis.scuolaestiva@gmail.com no later than May 24, 2020.

The subject line should be: “Submission for the XXIII Summer School in Philosophy of Physics”. Abstracts (without the authors' info) should be sent as pdf files together with a title page containing info about the author(s) and highlighting the corresponding speaker.

Notification of acceptance is expected no later than May 31, 2020.
